Strasburg is served by 3 area hospitals. HSHS Good Shepherd, Shelbyville, HSHS St. Anthony, Effingham and Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon. All are within 25 miles of Strasburg.
What recreational facilities are close to Strasburg?
There are excellent camping areas at Hidden Springs State Forest, Lake Shelbyville, Fox Ridge, Charleston. Boating venues are at Lake Shelbyville, Lake Sara, Effingham, Lake Mattoon, and Lake Decatur. Walking trails are at Hidden Springs, Dacey Trail, Lake Shelbyville, Fox Ridge, Charleston, and Strasburg has a walking path around the park.
Who do I contact to rent Community Center?
Contact the Village Office to rent the Community Center at 217-644-3007. Rates: $60 for meeting, reunion or similar event (no alcohol); $100 Wedding or Similar Event - no alcohol; $200 Wedding or Similar Event with alcohol (must have $100 deposit and Dram Shop Insurance prior to event.) Deposit: $50 to hold date - refundable if contract terms are met.
Can I rent a pavilion at the park?
Although there is no cost to schedule the use of the pavilions at the park, individuals/groups are asked to schedule the use of either of the pavilions with the Village Office at 217-644-3007.
What are the hours of the park and is alcohol allowed?
The village park is open daily from sun-up and closes at 10:00 PM, including the basketball court. There is no alcohol allowed in the park.
