Water Line Repair

November 6, 2014
Water lines at the Fire Station have rusted through and need to be replaced. At the current time, there is no shut-off valve to the water line that needs to be replaced. On Saturday, November 8, at approximately 12:30 p.m. if all goes well, water will be shut off in the area around the fire station (In a triangle from the fire hydrant south of the fire station, then northeast to Larry Reel’s, then west to Tobias Kircher, then back south to the fire hydrant.) At that time a shut-off valve will be installed to avoid having to shut down waterlines in the future. A boil order for water service in the affected area will be in place.
If there are problems with shutting that portion of the water lines down, the water for the entire village will be shut down from approximately 1-3 pm. If that is the case, a boil order for the entire Village (and anyone on Village water lines) will be effect. If a boil order is issued for the entire Village, it will be announced on WCRA/WCRC, KJ/WEJT, and WMCI, plus posted on Strasburg Facebook Page.

Strasburg Strongman event is a success despite the weather

While Mother Nature was fierce in the early morning hours of the day of the 2nd Annual Strongman and Strongwoman competition in Strasburg, she stopped in just enough time to let a group of mere humans show they can also be pretty tough.
After about 5 inches of rain hit the village in just a few hours, much of the Strasburg Homecoming events, such as the band and the tractor pull, had to be rescheduled. However, the Strongman and Woman competition and 5K run/walk went on as planned.
A large group of spectators enjoyed what turned out to be a nice day after the rain and watched the competitors vie in a Farmer’s Carry, Fire Truck Harness Pull, Tractor Tire Flips, and Atlas Stone Lift.
